SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 Shift Timings, Reporting Time & Important Guidelines

 The Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level Exam (SSC CGL 2025) is one of the biggest government job exams in India. This year, the Tier 1 exam is scheduled from September 12 to 26, 2025, with more than 28 lakh applicants competing for 14,582 vacancies in Group B and C posts across ministries and departments.

If you are appearing for the exam, it is very important to know the exam shift timings, reporting schedule, and guidelines to avoid last-minute issues.

Mode of Exam: Online (CBT)

Duration: 60 minutes

Total Questions: 100

Maximum Marks: 200

SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 Shift Timings

Unlike previous years, this time SSC has kept only one shift per day for Tier 1.

Exam Timing: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM

Reporting Time: 7:45 AM

Gate Closing Time: 8:45 AM


👉 Candidates must reach the center at least 75 minutes before the exam for verification and frisking. Late entry is strictly not allowed.

Reporting Instructions for Candidates

Reach the exam center well before time.

Use the reporting window (7:45 AM to 8:45 AM) for biometric verification and security checks.

Entry will not be allowed after 8:45 AM under any condition.

Check your exam city, date, and center details on the SSC admit card, available from September 9, 2025.

Documents to Carry

You must carry the following items to the exam hall:

Printed SSC CGL Tier 1 admit card

Valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, or Passport)

Two passport size photos (same as uploaded in the application form)

Transparent ballpoint pen (provided rough sheets will be given)


⚠️ Items like mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, and earphones are strictly banned.

Dress Code for SSC CGL 2025

Wear light-colored, simple clothes without big buttons or metallic designs.

Avoid jewelry, belts, and heavy accessories.

Shoes or sandals without nails are recommended.

Special Guidelines

Biometric verification (fingerprint, photo, and iris scan) will be done at entry and exit.

Strict action will be taken against malpractices like proxy attendance or sharing exam questions.

PwD candidates will get scribes and extra time if mentioned in their admit card.

Masks are optional, but follow social distancing at the center.
